Movie cowboy

This is a still from The Great Train Robbery, an American Western silent film, made in 1903 by Edwin S. Porter. It is the famous shot of the robber firing his gun at the camera which could be seen at the beginning of the film or the end or both!  While the movie is only twelve minutes long, it was considered amazing when it was made for it's genuine portrayal of the outlaw bands of the frontier and its innovative techniques including on location filming.
